After the Easter weekend, I am heading out into the countryside of Oxfordshire to spend a few days teaching photography in the magnificent surroundings of Denman College. We will spend some time taking photographs in that splendid setting, as well as making a day trip up to London for some urban photography work.
Although I love London, it is always exciting to escape from the hubbub of the city for a day or two and experience a different type of scenery, and so as I looked through my photo archive for an image to post today, I chose this view across the Lea Valley in Hertfordshire to get me in the right frame of mind! The contrasting colours and textures of grass, earth, trees and sky interest me, as does the play of light through the clouds and the leaves…but I think what really “makes” it for me is the little curl of smoke drifting up from a building in the bottom of the valley.
