Flower head

From one extreme to the other this week – from my last post with the expansive bulk of Bodiam Castle, to this one which shows the fine detail of a flower head.  As I have said before, one of the pleasures of photography is that is asks you to look at the world afresh, and to search for as much detail in the tiniest of things as in the largest.  The paper-like texture of the fading petals, the fronds of the stamen, and the fine hairs on the leaves all hold their own interest when, instead of just looking,  you really notice the plant in detail.
