Two bridges

Well, apologies first of all for the delay in posting updates!  The last couple of weeks have been really busy both with my exhibition in London, a number of talks and workshops on my First World War centenary project, and a trip out to the battlefields around Ypres and the Somme.

Life now seems to be gradually returning to normal, whatever that means – and today’s choice of peaceful image perhaps reflects that in some way.  Taken on the banks of the Severn River, the contrast of the two structures intrigued me – the rough wood of the decaying jetty in the foreground with its surface pocked and scarred by the elements, and the sleek lines of the modern bridge behind, almost delicate in construction when viewed from this distance.
