After yesterday’s spring like image, today’s is decidedly autumnal! This is from a piece of work I did for a hospice a few years ago, in which I was asked to create some photographic images for their corridor walls. I tried to create as many images as possible from within the grounds of the hospice itself, and this one was taken in their small courtyard garden.
As is so often the case, it was the contrasting textures which caught my eye, with the soft smoothness of the amber-brown leaf standing out against the gentle fronds of the plant into which it had fallen. But to my mind – and maybe I have an over-fertile imagination – it felt as if the leaf was almost sheltering, nestling in among the stems of the plant.
