Apart from taking the photographs themselves, one of the most enjoyable things about writing this blog is the excuse it gives me to go back through my archive of photos and choose images to include! Today’s image was in fact taken right back in 2009 on a trip I made to upstate New York.
I realise it’s a rather derivative image – you could barely walk into a poster shop during the 1980s without seeing images of jetties stretching out into lakes. But I’m hoping you’ll indulge me – what I liked here was not just the plunging leading line of the jetty stretching away from me, but also the brooding, cloudy sky and the movement of the water on the lake, as if being stirred up by the first gusts of an impending storm.
