Oh, so English…?

I am fortunate enough to travel abroad a fair amount in the course of my photography work, but as you may have noticed from my images I also really enjoy taking pictures closer to home.  As I have said before, there is something about photography which helps you to notice the familiar world around you in a new way.

Today’s picture is from a weekend in the Cotswolds – a simple view of the front of a Cotswold cottage with its welcoming, warm golden stone.  The silken smoothness of the roses draped over the door stands out against the rough stone behind.  A quintessentially English scene?
