Photographing those “little details”, which you might normally miss in a scene, intrigues me as you know. I think it is because they challenge you to look at something in a new way.
Today’s picture did that twice over. First, because the prism of glass is in itself a little detail, mounted within a gate beside a pathway in one of the Cambridge colleges, the sort of thing you might just walk by. Indeed, I might have done so too, had my other half not paused to look at it! And second, because the prism distorts and reframes the scene behind it, drawing in elements from the periphery of the scene, including my own shadow if you look carefully!
