I wrote a few weeks ago about a lovely stroll we took up the “zig-zag” path in Hampshire, recommended to us by some wedding photography clients.
It was indeed a beautiful walk; but as we wandered up that winding, hillside path it started to rain, so we sought shelter under a leafy tree. Rain adds new challenges for a photographer, but it has some important advantages too, not least that it often forces you to stop for a time, and that in turn gives you a chance to think! I believe this thinking time can put you in a much better frame of mind for photography, as it opens your eyes to what is around you. The rain lessened, and we headed on up the hill for sweeping views over the surrounding countryside, and this woodland gate which beckoned us on with promise of what was “just around the next corner”.
