Continuing my sporadic publication of Hertford images, here is a view captured from those same quiet castle grounds which I wrote about the other day. As I’ve mentioned before, I am always fascinated by contrasts in images: old and new, rough and smooth, natural and manmade…for some reason these things intrigue me! In this picture, the light touching the profusion of leaves in the foreground just framed the manmade church tower in the distance. The tower itself is also unusual, with a small spire apparently set in one corner of the tower – if anyone can explain that unusual configuration, I’d be delighted to know!
